Error Message when starting Artisan Studio Uno
Hey there,
I have successfully downloaded and installed Artisan Studio Uno. However, whenever I want to start the application the following error message pops up.
-----------
Unable to checkout license; Cannot find license file
The license files (or sever network addresses) attempted are
listed below. Use LM_LICENSE_FILE to use a different license file,
or contact your software provider for a license file.
Feature: ARTISANRTM
Filename: C:\flexlm\license.dat
License path: C:\flexlm\license.dat
FLEXlm error: -1,359. System Error: 2 "No such file or directory"
For further information, refer to the FLEXlm End User Manual,
available at "macrovision.com"
-----------
Can you help me with that?
Kind regards,
Bastian Zimmer

Hi Bastian,
it seems the licence key is not found, either it's not at the right place or missing.
I will recommend the following:
1) Use the 'Artisan Software Tools/License Manager' menu in Windows Start and check
a) using 'View' that the licence file content is similar to that:
#Generated by ARTiSAN Software Tools Ltd
#Date: dd-10-2008 09:05:31
#Tool: ArtisanLG (v7.0.9)
#Flex: Version 9.5
FEATURE ARTISANRTM ARTSANSW 7.000 31-dec-2009 uncounted CCCCCCC\
HOSTID=DEMO START=dd-Oct-2008
b) if not check in 'options' the first check box is selected with 'C:\Program Files\Artisan Software Tools\Artisan License Manager\'
(unless you've installed studio uno elsewhere)
c) verify a 'artisan.lic' file does exist in the mentioned path, with its content as indicated above
2) if nothing in 1) can solve the issue, request a new key and update you install using the license manager
hope this helps,
Olivier

Re: Error Message when starting Artisan Studio Uno
At first, thank you very much for your help.
The thing is, if I want to start the License Manager I get the following error-message:
-------
Run-Time error '75':
Path/File access error
-------
I believe my problems stem from the fact that I do not have admin rights on my computer. Because of that the application might not get the rights it needs to execute, for example creating files in some folder. I'll check with my local Tech support for a solution. If I get to know something new, I'll keep you updated.
